Dan Grace also discovered the giant tire that once stood beneath the lighted Hot Rod sign on Hunt's Pier. The tire (which is made of fiberglass and stands more than 10 feet tall) was added to the Hot Rod signage in 1968, only to be removed along with the rest of the ride at the end of the 1969 season. More than four decades later the tire is now owned by Gerry Gaboni who has recently bolted it back together for display at his salvage business on Rt.47 in Dennisville, NJ. |
