Demolition of
the Shore Theatre started in the first week of January, 2006.
Over the course of the last three weeks Bernard of American
Demolition Company methodically tore down and dissected the
dilapidated theatre with the skills of a surgeon - picking his
way from the back of the Shore toward Atlantic Avenue. The finale
came this past Friday morning with the toppling of the theatres
marquee. Many days I left my job early and at times took off
the entire day to record the event and can tell you it was dramatic
and quite heartbreaking... no need to say more - the following
photos say it all.
